Our History How it All Began 1951 CFI began in Joplin, MO with the one owner operator and two trailers. 1970 To enforce safety regulations, the CFI Safety car conducted road patrols of the fleet. 1985 First company tractor was purchased and CFI began providing service to Mexico and Canada. The fleet size had reached 940 trucks and surpassed 2,000 before the turn of the century. In the years following, the first international and Canadian offices opened in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon(1987) and Toronto, Ontario (1988). 1990 CFI was the first carrier to receive the President’s “E” Award. This award was created by the executive order of the U.S. President to afford suitable recognition to persons, firms, or organizations which contribute significantly in the effort to increase U.S. exports. 1999 CFI begins operations in Mexico. 2003 CFI Logistica headquarters established in Guadalajara. Four years later terminals opened in Monterey, San Luis Potosí, Mexico City, and Querétaro. 2018 First inbound customs clearance service. 2021 CFI celebrates 70 years of business and adds Temp-Control to service offerings. 2022 CFI and Heartland Express join forces.
